Transactional Intent

Transactional intent describes queries where the user is ready to take a specific action — most commonly making a purchase, signing up for a service, or completing a download. These queries signal high commercial value because the user has already decided what they want and is actively looking for where to get it. Keywords with transactional intent often include modifiers like "buy," "order," "sign up," "get a quote," "download," or "near me."

Pages optimized for transactional intent are typically product pages, service landing pages, pricing pages, and local business listings. They need to prioritize conversion elements — clear calls to action, trust signals, pricing information, and frictionless paths to purchase — in addition to standard SEO optimization. Transactional queries are the highest-value keywords for direct revenue attribution but also tend to have the most competition.
