Title Tag

What is Title Tag?
A title tag is an HTML element that specifies the title of a web page. It appears in browser tabs, bookmarks, and — most importantly — as the clickable headline in search engine results pages (SERPs). Search engines use it as one of the strongest on-page signals to determine what a page is about.
A well-crafted title tag typically contains the primary keyword near the beginning and stays within 50–60 characters to avoid truncation in search results. Every page on a site should have a unique, descriptive title tag that accurately reflects the page's content and entices users to click.
Why it matters for SEO
The title tag is one of the most influential on-page SEO factors because search engines weigh it heavily when determining topical relevance. A compelling, keyword-rich title tag can meaningfully improve both rankings and click-through rate, directly affecting how much organic traffic a page receives.
Example
A running-shoe retailer's category page has the title "Home | Products | Category 14". Rewriting it to "Women's Trail Running Shoes: Waterproof & Lightweight | StrideCo" puts the main keyword first, tells searchers exactly what the page offers, keeps the brand at the end, and stays around 60 characters so Google is less likely to truncate or rewrite it in the results.
